We're thrilled to have legendary songwriter and longtime GIFT member Dallas Frazier as our guest this month. Dallas was born in Spiro, Oklahoma, and raised in the Bakersfield, California area. Dallas started to write songs. At age fourteen, he signed with Capitol Records and had his first hit with the song “Alley Oop”, which the Hollywood Argyles later took to the #1 spot on the Billboard chart.

In 1963, Dallas and his wife Sharon moved to Tennessee and he soon got established as a songwriter. Over the years, Dallas has written hundreds of songs and has left an indelible mark on the music industry. “Elvira”, “There Goes My Everything”, “If My Heart Had Windows”, “Mohair Sam”, “All I Have To Offer You Is Me” and “The Son Of Hickory Hollers Tramp” are just a few of the successful songs contained in his catalogue. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1976. The documentary Elvira: The true Story of Dallas Frazier premiered in March of 2019.

On the spiritual side, Dallas is a non-denominational Christian minister. For the most part, he was retired from the music business from 1976 to 2006. Much of that time was spent in Christian ministry. From 1999 to 2006 he was the pastor of Grace Community Fellowship, a non-denominational church near White House, Tennessee.

WSMV TV will be filming our meeting for a faith special Tom Randles is producing, so look your best for television! :-)

Don't miss this special meeting!
